My goal is to help you improve your condition and
to work toward your optimum level of health using the various
massage and bodywork therapies listed below.
| Swedish massage is the most popular type of massage in the
US and is often referred to as relaxation massage. It uses
a system of long gliding strokes, and other techniques on
the outer layers of muscles to increase circulation, mental
and physical relaxation and decrease stress and muscle tension. |
| Deep tissue massage releases chronic patterns of muscular
tension and is usually on a focused problem area. This massage
is done with greater pressure and effects deeper layers of
muscle than Swedish/relaxation massage. |
| Neuromuscular Therapy addresses soft tissue irregularities
and manipulates those tissues to handle them. These irregularities
are created by physical or emotional stress and poor posture. |
| Trigger point therapy uses pressure and stretching to relieve
the irritated, painful muscles with reduced flexibility. Pressure
is produced using fingertips, knuckles or elbow pressure directly
on the trigger point, followed by stretching. |
| Structural Integration is closely related to Rolfing. It
involves very deep, slow strokes going both with the muscle
fibers and against them to lengthen, expand and increase the
pliability of the muscles and to increase circulation. Additional
stretching techniques generally leave clients feeling “lighter
and taller.” |
| Healing Touch is an energy based approach to healing, used
extensively in the nursing profession. HT uses several techniques
to assess and treat the human energy system, helping increase
physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health and healing.
The goal is to restore wholeness through harmony and balance,
enhancing a person's self-healing. |
| Reiki (Ray-kee) is a simple but profound system of natural
healing based on eastern philosophy. Life Force Energy is
the foundation of all life and is made up of external and
internal life energies. Reiki helps the body and mind re-balance
and cleanse the internal energies, promoting health and well-being.
The technique involves hands being placed at various positions
on the front and back of the body, with each being held up
to 5 minutes. |
